alternative careers for teachers
70It is not easy to change jobs especially when you are so familiar with one thing and then you have to do another. You need a lot of things like job experience, paper qualifications and more. And it can be a pain to have to do research all over again on what you want to do or what is best for you. Here are some options and why I enjoy them personally.
Tutor- This is the easiest i personally feel as the job is so much similar to teaching. This is really attractive if you have family or work responsibilities, etc. You can work at the time you have stated though you will need to visit students' homes or work on a one on one basis or in smaller groups.
Education Officers- They increase public understanding of organisations such as museums and nature reserves by organising presentations and guided tours. They also liase with schools to arrange visits.
Education Inspectors- They work in teams to carry out school inspections where they observe lessons and interview teachers, pupils, etc and make a detailed report.
Education Administrator- They ensure that schools like colleges and universities run smoothly by carrying out financial, supportive and administrative tasks and so on. Their career might even progress into managerial roles.
Training Coordinator- A coordinator in a human resources department in general plans and conducts general and specialised employee training, educational and development programs. They also help to formulate teaching outlines.
These are just some general jobs that teachers might go into. There are many more out there if we just search for it. There are employers that will hire you because of your education and work experiences. Talking to a career counsellor can help you with the decision making process.

Actually inthe US, teachers are underpaid and overworked. My daughter is a teacher. also parents do not respect the teachers, rather, they expect the teacher to always be complimenting the child, even if there are some behavioral problems. At school, she has to buy the supplies for her classroom and thenis expected to help buy presents for everyone from fellow teachers to the janitor. she has three of her own children. Unfortunately, i can't help her now as I am helping my son and his family. I did find out about some other prospects for her though and the problem now is that she feels depressed about her life as a teacher. they do have a new program in Florida called the Virtual Academy and this allows kids to be homeschooled with the guidance of teachers who can chat with them by phone or over the internet. The teachers also arrange field trips once a month. However, I feel that parents really need to learn to respect teachers and what they are trying to do with their children.
